A QUIET TIME WITH GOD IS A MOMENT OF

DEVOTION

Daily devotion is called QUIET TIME. It arms the believer with

―God‖ to face daily challenges. It is a time when one withdraws completely

from physical business to commune with God thereby strengthening your

relationship with God. You can draw greater benefits from your devotion

if you follow the tips given here.

1. Set a time:

People are busy I know. Yet you need to make time out this precious

period. David wrote: ―On Lord …in the morning my prayer comes before you‖

Psalms 88:13

It is very important you meet God not in rules but in disciplined ways. You

may find it almost impossible to do your Bible devotion in the morning,

but what is important to us is what we create time for. This is why I

suggest also the night hours. Again, David wrote: When I remember thee upon

my bed, [And] meditate on thee in the night watches. Psalms 63:6

2. Stick to your time:

It is as simple as that. You can meet God on your bed. However, make a

time for it. Make it regular like Daniel (Daniel 6:10). Habit is formed

through repetition. Make this set apart time your new habit.

3. Make it a quiet place.

The Bible speaks of ―a solitary place‖- Mark 1:35. You find David using

his bed at night for this purpose. Quietness means it‘s private, personal

and purposeful. It follows the Bible Examples of men and women who

made devotion a ―custom‖ viz, the early church – Acts 3:1 and even Jesus

Christ – Luke 5:15-16

4. Ask God to speak to you. Read the stated Bible text. Identify what it

says and means to you personally. Devotion time is study time to aid your

understanding of the Bible and fire up your knowledge of God.

7. Spend Time to Pray:

Prayer is simply talking to God. This prayer time is to enforce God‘s

original plans for your life as you are fired up by Bible truth.
